The Department of Minority Welfare, Government of Karnataka invites applications from the Meritorious Minority Community students of Karnataka domicile who have scored 95% and above marks in aggregate during examination.
Who can apply ?
Meritorious Minority Community students who have scored
  • Above 95% in 10th - SSLC or CBSE or ICSE 
  • Above 95% in 2nd Year PUC or 12th std - CBSE or ICSE 
  • Successful candidates of I.A.S, I.P.S, I.F.S and K.A.S during the year

Minority Community Development ( karnataka )

Grant in aid to Minority Orphanage ( Karnataka )

Under this scheme orphans and destitute children studying from 1st standard are elegible to get grant at Rs. 150/- per month boarder. This scheme is under the District Sector and implemented through the Zilla Panchayats. These Orphanages are approved and included in the Grant-in-aid scheme are eligible to obtain financial assistance under the scheme. The district Office, Backward Classes & Minorities Department of the District is the NODAL Officer and may be contacted for further details.

Occupational / Training for Minorities ( Karnataka )

Occupational Training for un-employed youths in various trades such as Electrical Wireman, Civil Work Supervision Radio, TV Repairs, Tailoring, Embroidery etc., Is provided under this scheme, Training fee and stipend to candidates will be paid by the Department. The scheme is under the District Sector and implemented through the Zilla Panchayats.The selections of the candidates is done at the District level. Grant-in-Aid to Hostels run by Minority Organisations ( Karnataka )

Under this scheme matching building grant, up to a maximum of Rs. 1.00 (One lakh), can be provided to Minority Organisations, like NGO's, Voluntary organizations etc., To carryout minor, repairs, additions and alterations to there Hostels. Interested organizations have to apply through the District Office of the Backward Classes & Minority Department.

Teaching and Learning Aid to Govt. Minorities Schools ( Karnataka )

Under this scheme minorities schools are provided with teaching and learning aids up to Rs.10,000/- every year. The scheme is implemented at the District level by the district Officers, Backwards Classes & Minorities in Co-ordination with the Deputy Director of Public Instruction. The District Committee under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner selects the beneficiary schools interested schools may apply to the district officer, Backwards Classes & Minority Department on a plain paper indicating their requirements.

Construction of Hostel for Minorities ( Karnataka )

Under this schemes Government Hostels are constructed through the Deputy Commissioner or the Zilla Panchayats to provide for better environment for poor and needy minorities students. The selection of the Hosteliers is done at the District level. The District officer, Backward Class & Minorities of the district is the nodal officer.
